CODShield Documentation

Everything you need to get started and make the most of CODShield.

What is CODShield?

CODShield is a Shopify app designed to help merchants reduce Cash on Delivery (COD) fraud.

The app analyzes incoming orders and calculates a fraud risk score based on multiple signals.

How It Works

1

A new order is created.

2

CODShield analyzes order data.

3

A risk score is calculated.

4

If the score exceeds your threshold, the order is automatically tagged.

5

You review high-risk orders before fulfillment.

Installation Guide

1

Install CODShield from the Shopify App Store.

2

Approve required permissions.

3

Wait for initial order synchronization.

4

Configure your risk threshold in Settings.

Risk Score Explained

The risk score is calculated based on:

  • Order amount
  • Customer order history
  • Shipping patterns
  • Behavioral indicators

Each order receives a score between 0 and 100. Higher score = higher fraud probability.

Automatic Tagging

When enabled:

  • Orders above your risk threshold are automatically tagged.
  • Tags can be customized.
  • You remain in full control.

Data Processing

CODShield processes only necessary data:

  • Order details
  • Customer basic information
  • Store configuration

Data is deleted within 30 days after uninstallation. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Troubleshooting

If orders are not appearing:

  • Ensure required scopes are approved.
  • Reinstall the app if necessary.
  • Contact support.
